Tried to say something at the funeral but couldn’t get my microphone to work. As long as I have known Nancy, it was never just Nancy but always Nancy and Dan. I am sure it will be that way forever. But now Dan will be that angel walking beside you and watching over you. Nancy you are in my prayers as well as the rest of the family. It’s hard to let go of someone you loved so much but Dan had a life well lived!

Hi Nancy, many thanks to you and your family for sharing Dan's funeral. I tried to speak but for some reason no one could hear me. I just wanted to tell you all that I love you. I was going to share how I have such wonderful memories of all of us together on beautiful summer days during many Seafair weekends through the years. I remember everyone gathered around you and Dan listening to story after story about your experiences and we would be laughing so hard we were crying. I love you and Dan so much. He will be missed and he will live in our hearts forever.

Daniel always embraced me as one of the family, the same as Nancy and the boys have. He was always so kind to me, and was always forthright, and honest, what you saw and experienced with Dan, was who he was with everyone. I admired and respected Dan for the love and admiration that he had for his family. His life was his family, he was always his best with them. I was blessed with getting to spend time with Nancy and Dan during many life events. I was at his 50th birthday party when we all danced around the restaurant in a Conga line. I met them at the Oregon Coast, where we would have a delicious meal overlooking the ocean, then play the slots. Meeting the next morning at the breakfast buffet to fuel ourselves for the new day's adventure. We rode the Washington dinner train with Nancy, Dan, Justina, Lloyd, me and my husband, we had a great time laughing, talking, eating and of course drinking. Many, many a dinner at their house, Nancy cooking up a storm, us all talking, laughing and eating, what we did best. Did we ever karaoke, oh yes. I even did kamikaze karaoke where I begged Dan to gong me while singing the song Kaw-liga (I think Hank Williams) I just could not remember the song, and I sounded absolutely horrible, you could tell that Dan did not want to gong me, even though I was hurting the ears of the entire audience (I believe David was the DJ/host of the event at the bar), I did make it through the song Funky Cold Medina, thank God. Last year we even went to an Evening with Clinton's in Seattle, thanks to Kevin, it was quite the night. I will miss his wit, his smile and his presence. Thank you Dan for taking me into your family and allowing me to experience the Gary family at its' finest. Love you, I will miss you
