Mary Anne Squally, who was a Nisqually Tribal Elder, was the Daughter of Tom Mounts and Edna Nancy Wells Mounts.
Children: LouAnn K. Squally, Lewis John Squally AKA John L. (deceased), Lorraine R. Sanders (deceased), Lawrence Eric Squally (deceased) , LaVerne E. Squally. She was married to Lewis Squally and they had 5 children together …they divorced later on in life. She was survived by many grandsons, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. Reuben and DeWayne who are Laverne’s children stepped forward to replace John L. and Eric and these two along with their spouses Carrie (Reuben Squally’s wife) and Sophie Wells (Dewayne’s spouse) were always there to care for her and Roy
She was a Mother to many kids who she cared for. She was a gatherer of medicines and traditional foods; and a basket-maker. She shared her life with her Spouse, Roy Wells, in their earlier years. They fished and hunted and picked berries in the mountain. They traveled to the mountain and camped with the Nisqually Tribe and Family when the huckleberries were ripe. She loved to go to the Red Wind Casino and gamble with Roy and all the family many times.
She also loved to trout fish along the Nisqually River and she spent some time in Alaska fishing with her Dad and Brother, Frank Wells Mounts (deceased). She also has a Half-Brother, John Mounts, who she met a few years ago. She only had a few members of the Mounts family left.
She will be missed by many family members, friends, and her little protectors: Gilly, Missy, Rocky, Jackson, and Cujo.
