Olympia, WA – William N. (Nick) Ewing Sr., 71, of Olympia, Washington, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Olympia, Thurston, WA on August 30, 2016, following a long battle with Cancer.
Nick was born in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan, the son of Robert Archie and Beatrice Rae Huellmantel Ewing. His first wife, Shirley Ann Rossell Ewing passed away in 2015. They had two children, William N. (Will) Ewing Jr. and Christine Rae Ewing.

The traveling bug was in Nick’s blood – he loved the many places he traveled to, but his heart remained in Michigan. He made many trips back to his roots, to visit his children and his brother, Robert Allen (Bob) Ewing. Nick was involved in Boy Scouts of America, was a volunteer firefighter in Copmish, MI, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 21, Olympia, WA. In the last few years, he took care of feral cats and was able to find home for numerous kittens.
