Velma Taylor, 86, passed away in Olympia, WA on Sunday, October 25, 2015 with her sons by her side.

Born December 2, 1928 in Marvel, CO to Roy and Grace Towne, she grew up in CO. In July 1946, she married Victor Taylor and they had two sons. Vic was employed with the National Park Service which gave the Taylor family the opportunity to live in Mesa Verde National Park, Arches/Canyonlands National Park, and North Cascades National Park. Each time the family moved to a new park, Velma would find employment; one of the jobs she enjoyed the most was selling real estate.

She is survived by her sons, Michael, Lacey, WA and Tim (Mary), Olympia; six grandchildren, Mike Taylor, CA, Mindy (Joel) Piper, WI, Kim (Jay) McFadden, AK, Lisa Taylor, OR, Lindsey (Jeremy Coleman, WA, and Kate Taylor, WA; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Jacob and Maggie Piper, WI and James McFadden, AK. She is also survived by a sister, Jan Monroe, CO and a brother, Chet Towne, CO.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vic and several brothers and sisters.
Private inurnment will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, Washington. Memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice.
