In Loving Memory: RoseAnn Almeda (Martin) Olsen
June 10, 1933 – August 7, 2016
RoseAnn (Martin) Olsen stepped into Heaven Sunday, August 7,2016 at The Firs assisted living center in Lacey, Washington. She was 83 years old.
She was born near Yelm, Washington. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Yelm High School in 1951. During RoseAnn’s high school years she participated in tennis, which she loved dearly. During her early adulthood RoseAnn was a homemaker and mother. She loved creating beautiful dresses for her Aunt Rose in Tenino. It seemed she could make anything from anything. She fixed many meals, washed a lot of clothes, dusted a lot of furniture and vacuumed a lot of carpet while her kids were growing up. After the children left the home in Olympia, Washington, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a hairdresser. She put herself through beauty school in Olympia during her mid forties. Eventually she had her own shop on Hood’s Canal, The Hairport.
RoseAnn was preceded in death by her mother Ethel (Colvin) Haigwood, (Johnny) and father James Martin (Eva). She was also preceded by her oldest child, Almeda Rose (Gardner) Davis.
She has many survivors including brothers Glen and Fred Martin, Kathy (Haigwood) Camp, sons James and David Gardner, and Angela (Robinson) Scott and Henry (Robbie) Robinson. She has numerous grand children, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
There will be a graveside service honoring her memory at the Forest Grove Cemetery, in Tenino on Friday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Thurston County.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Woodlawn for their wonderful support and service at this time of our loss. We also want to thank Hospice and especially Janine.
