Mina was born on October 12, 1930 in Coudersport Pennsylvania, to Anna Voight from Hamburg Germany and Walter Meister from Schaffhausen Switzerland.

The Meister family lived on a dairy farm while in Pennsylvania, when the depression took the farm, they migrated to Washington state. After a long trip across the country in a Model A Ford they settled into the Grays Harbor and Pacific County Area.

Mina graduated from North River Highschool at the age of 17

She worked at McChord Airforce base as a clerk typist and retired from the WA State Treasurer’s office where she was an accounting assistant.  She continued to work on the Election board of the Thurston County Auditor’s office well into her golden years.

Organizations: She volunteered for the Eagles, VFW, and the Ruddell Pioneer Cemetery Association. Mina was active in the Parent Teacher Association as well as being a cub scout leader. She was a member of the Moose and enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society in her later years.

Mina married George Bowker in 1958.  The union lasted almost 56 years.

Mina was preceded in death by husband George, and stepson Larry George, her parents Anna and Walter, her siblings; Annaleis, Ingrid and brother Walter.

She is survived by sister Lilly McGuire, son Steven and his wife Katherine, step daughter Sally Bowker Hicks, grandsons Jason Hicks and wife Lisa, Riley and Tommy McDevitt, and great grandchildren Lauren Nicole Hicks, Spencer Link, and Alycia McDevitt, many nieces and nephews, as well as dear, dear friends and neighbors.
