Mary Theresa Meyer left this earth at about 7am on September 27, 2015 to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born on August 22, 1927 to Johannus and Clara Dorr Hendrikx in Port Angeles, Washington. She was the youngest of seven children . She married Emil William Meyer in 1949 and divorced him in 1953. From this marriage they had 3 daughters: Mary Elizabeth Meyer, Janet Theresa (Terry – deceased) Shelby, and Kathy Lynn (Roger) Bartlett. Mary also claimed Amy (Jeremy) Knight as her children.
She loved the outdoors. Was an animal lover, especially horses and dogs. She enjoyed gardening, oil and watercolor painting, drawing, writing childrens stories and carpentry. She was a woman of many talents.
Mary is survived by her 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her sister Elaine of Plainville, CT and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christi Lynn, 2 son-in-laws, Terry Shelby and Don Schiavone, 2 brothers Victor and John Hendrikx, 3 sisters Adriana Ruth Jonker, Wilma Hendrikx and Helen Mott.
Arrangements were made by Woodlawn Funeral Home of Lacey, WA.
A Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, October 15th 3pm at Prairie Baptist Church 17525 Hwy 507 SE Yelm, WA 98597.
