Karen Louise Boyd was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 16, 1941. She was the second child of Margaret R. and Joseph F. Burke.

After a long battle with Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), congestive heart failure and Atrial fibrillation, Karen passed from cardiac arrest early in the morning on June 13, 2016, at St. John’s Hospital in Billings, MT as a result of day. Karen was 74 years old.

Karen grew up in a small town – Red Oak, Iowa- and attended Mount Loreto High School. She met her first husband, John del Rosario- who was in the Air Force, in 1959. One of her passions was collections – coins and collector spoons from her travels to other countries, and puzzles, just to name a few. They settled in Riverside, California.
After their divorce, she worked at Burpee Seed and went on to work at San Antonio Community Hospital as a Computer Operator. This is where she met her current Husband – Dale W. Boyd.

She was furiously loyal. She loved God, her country and most of all her family no matter what. She was an amazing woman – full of spit and vinegar – ready to take on the devil and the world and to fight for injustice. She was a safe harbor for those she loved, and she loved everyone. She loved to laugh and have fun and loved to play pranks on everyone.

She is survived by her Husband – Dale Boyd, her three sisters – Adrienne F. Lux, Kathleen Riddle, and Mary M. Thibodeaux – her 6 children – Annette Snapper, Linda Jenkins, Anthony del Rosario, Theresa Strachan, Noelle Brown and Amber Boyd, and numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

Services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June 16th, 2016.
She was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lacey, Washington on June 18th, 2016.
