Irene Ann Goff , died peacefully in her home on July 9, 2015 at the age of 93 surrounded by loving husband and children. Her devotion to her family and her strong faith in God supported her throughout her life and in her last days. Irene was cheerful and brave to the very end. She spoke her last words “I love you all” and quietly slipped away.
Irene was born in Rupert, Idaho on February 14, 1922. She was devout practicing Catholic throughout her life. As a young woman, she had opened her own beauty salon. It is there where she met Hollis, “the love of her life”, also from Rupert Idaho, and celebrated 67 wonderful years as a dedicated and happy wife and mother. Quilting and sewing were her life long hobbies which she generously share with all her family.
Irene & Hollis moved to Olympia, Washington to begin their life together and raise a family. That is where they spent the majority of their 67 years of marriage with a short stay of three years in Wenatchee.
Irene was blessed with a large and loving family. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who are comforted by her strong faith, knowing that she is with the Lord.
Irene is survived by her husband, Hollis; her children Frank, JoAnn, Kay, Patty (son Larry’s wife that preceded her in death), her grandchildren Jennifer, Emily, Katie, Robbie, Andrew, Matthew, Allison, Summer, Sarah, and Dylon. and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Funeral service for Irene will be at Sacred Heart Church, in Lacey, WA, Saturday, July 18 at 9:00am. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted.
