Hindmarsh Spencer Stephen, 69, of Lacey, WA, succumbed to brain cancer after putting up a good fight, at home surrounded by his family on September 13, 2017.

Hindmarsh is survived by his wife Renate of 45 years, daughter Talia (James) Robinson, son Tobias Stephen, brother Alfred Stephen, sister Ann Stephen, loving grandchildren Terrian, Gia, Elijah, and Tevin, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Hindmarsh was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all.

Hindmarsh loved gardening and spending time with his family. He loved his job and worked as a federal accounts manager for 30+ years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed a good game of tennis in his younger days and traveling around the world and many destinations in the US as well. He also enjoyed nature and reading up on the latest car and technology news. Hindmarsh was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

A special thank you to Providence Hospice in Olympia for their loving care and support. Also thank you to Woodlawn Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.

Funeral services for Hindmarsh will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home on September 23rd from 1 to 4 pm. Please join us in remembering the beautiful life of this beloved man.
