Esther Stafford resident of Lacey, Washington passed away in her home on April 14, 2018.
Esther was preceded in death by husband Samuel Joseph Stafford and sister Alyce Anderson. Esther is survived by one sister, Betty Pendergraft; children, Frankie Louise Schlender, Cheryl Ann Kelso, and Martin Louis Stafford; two grandchildren, Christian Stafford Schlender and Cori Anne Garcia Hansen; and two great grandchildren, Johnathan and Zoe Schlender.
Born in Flag Springs, Missouri to Cora Alice Files (nee Reese) and John Ray files. Esther grew up in Guilford, Missouri. She graduated from Guilford High School in 1944. Esther relocated to Lacey, Washington in 1954 and began work at the Department of Licensing in Olympia, WA.
She met and married Samuel Joseph Stafford in 1956.
In 1967 she began teaching at Centralia College and relocated to Centralia, Tenino, and later returned to Lacey, Washington.
Services at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Lacey, Washington on May 2, 2018. Visitation and viewing from 1PM to 2PM,
Service begins at 2PM,
and Graveside from 3PM to 3:30PM.
There will be a gathering at O’Blarney’s in Lacey from 3:30PM to 6PM.
