A Chapel service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at 1:00pm. A short committal reading will take place outside at graveside immediately after the service.

Barbara Kingsley was born on August 30, 1921 in Covina, California, the last child of 8 children of Elisa and Samuel G. Crabtree. Her life ended 97 years later on February 16, 2019 in Olympia, Washington.
She enjoyed growing up in the state of California playing with her brothers and sisters. She had two older sisters that were deaf that taught her to accept her own deafness and live life to the fullest. And THAT she did.
She met and married Alfred Harris Upton and settled down in San Bernardino, California. Harris passed away on September 7, 1979.
After that she remained single for 10 years and met Harry S. Kingsley and married October 20, 1989. The two of them lived in the California area several years before moving to Olympia, Washington.
After Harry’s death in 2002 she moved several times and then into a group home. There, she was loved and taken care of for 2 ½ years.
She enjoyed visits from friends and having Pastor Nitz come often for his comforting presence.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her friends, community members and all who knew her.
