Virty Mae Moses, age 84 of Lacey, Washington started her journey into heavens gates on October 29, 2019 surrounded by family.
“Mae” as she liked to be called was born on March 30, 1935 in Bay Springs, Mississippi to Evan and Genetta Keyes (both deceased). She had 6 brothers and sisters; Mary Mageline McCullough (deceased), Augie Keyes (deceased), Lydia Gavin (deceased), Effie Page (deceased), Foley Keyes (deceased) and Helen Ruth Keyes.
Mae married Arthur Moses (deceased) on May 2nd, 1959 in Maryland, together they raised 5 children. Being a military family, their life was full of moving to new places and experiencing new adventures. From Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Ohio, Georgia, Germany and finally calling Lacey, WA home in 1973.
Mae’s pride and joy were her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Any person that had the joy and blessing of meeting Mae would tell you she opened her arms and home to everyone. When thinking of her attributes these words come to mind; strength, wit, humor, non-judgement, acceptance, patience, love, activist, compassion and the best cook in the World! We said it THE WORLD.

Her one living sibling Helen Ruth Keyes. Her 5 children; Peggy Keyes (Paul Dawson), Edward Keyes, Jeffery Moses (Bernadette Moses), Arthur Moses Jr-deceased (Heidi Moses) and Kenneth Moses (Angie Moses).
From her beautiful children she was gifted 11 grandchildren; Marquis and Nicole (Peggy), Erick (Jeffery), Demika, Mentral, Indigo, Sheraud, Reginald, and Katie (Arthur Jr) and Kiara and Kristen (Kenneth).
Mae’s grandchildren continued to grow the family adding 9 great-grandchildren; Marquis Jr, Kameron, Kaden and Isabella (Marquis), Preston (Nicole), Savannah (Katie), Ja’marion-deceased and Nevaeh (Indigo) and Jayvion (Mentral).
