Let’s all come together for an afternoon of good food and wonderful company as we share our stories and memories. Joanne was born in Leesville, LA to Donald and Thresia Swenson on September 13th, 1946. She went to high school at North Thurston and graduated in 1964. She went on to Centralia College where she flourished as she expanded her amazing skills in various art mediums. She retired this past April from the Office of Financial Recovery with DSHS as a Revenue Agent. Her home away from home. She loved her job and even more, the friends she made there that became her second family. She gave in abundance to a wide range of programs and Charities and was deeply involved with her Church in Puyallup for over 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and she loved to travel. Her adventures took her from occasional weekend trips to various local areas and even to Hawaii and Israel. She excelled in her artistic abilities in everything from jewelry making, drawing and sewing to name only a few. She about mastered it all and made it look easy. Everyone will agree that she cooked the best food and had learned to make artisan breads and she was not shy about sharing it. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents Donald & Thresia Swenson and her brother Jerry Swenson. Joanne is survived by her daughters, Kim Widman (Keldy) and Danielle Stom (Chad). Brothers, Don, Jim & Bill Swenson, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
