Beverly Ann Fox was born November 21st 1932 to Albert and Mary McCammant in Vancouver, Wa. She was the only girl of four children born to Albert and Mary McCammant. Her parents divorced in August 1941. In July 1942 during World War 2 her mother married Leroy King who was in the Army. Beverly in time, then became the big sister to three new sisters and a brother. During World War 2 she lived in Vernonia, Oregon, and then in Kent Wa. when the war ended. Beverly’s stepfather was from Wisconsin, so they all moved there. After finishing 1 year of high school at the age of 16 she went to work for $12.50 a week at a country store in Spokeville, Wisconsin until June 1949. Her parents and family then moved to Duluth, Minn. Later in 1949 she worked as a sales clerk, then a waitress at Walgreen drug store in Duluth, Minn. In April 1951 she joined the army, had her basic training in Fort Lee, Va. There she met her first husband Kenneth Miller. She was attending 405 School in Ft. Riley Ks when she was discharged. A daughter Mary Miller was born March 2, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisc. Later Beverly and Kenneth decided to divorce. In 1953 & 1954 she worked at a meat packing company as a meat wrapper. On Sept 4, 1954 she married a long time friend Reuben Fox whom she met in 1946. They were married for 63 years. After their marriage they moved to Long Beach, Ca. where Reuben attended Long Beach State College. She worked as a waitress at G & E Café in Long Beach Ca. from Sept 1954 to Feb 1955. Meals were delivered to the customer on a railroad track, with a small boxcar engine that had a whistle. When her mother in law was diagnosed with cancer they returned to Illinois. In July 1955 Beverly was very ill with meningitis and hospitalized for 9 days. On March 5 1957 a daughter Virginia Mae Fox was born. Beverly and Reuben and their 2 daughters moved to Kent Washington in July 1957. On January 4th 1959 a son Charles Fox was born. In Sept 1959 off & on to Sept 1963 Beverly worked at the Catherine Blake School with challenged children. She also did some motel work, and worked at the Kent newspaper office. The Dr ordered her to quit work because of a heart condition. After that she was a stay at home mom, who loved to cook for her family and keep a clean house. She loved to have family come visit and you were always sure to get a delicious spread of great food and homemade desserts. Beverly loved to play games of all kinds and literally had a closet full of them. She enjoyed crafts, painting on ceramic, making beautiful flower arrangements for all occasions, and sewing. When her husband retired on April 1 1993, they joined the Wally Byam Airstream Club with their Airstream trailer, and soon after moved to Lacey to live at the Wa. Land Yacht Club. From there they traveled all over the United States in their Airstream Motor home enjoying International Rallies with friends, camping all over Washington, sightseeing around Branson, Missouri and visiting family everywhere. They also went on several cruises, including Holland, England, Alaska, Hawaii, and Bermuda. Her husband Reuben, Her children Mary, Virginia and Curt Jewett and Chuck, Grandchildren –Shawna – Lindsay and Mark- Jamie and Pam– Rachel, Tylor, Josh and Chelsea, Great grandchildren Landon, Taylor, Fredrick, Saleena, Bryse, Mark, Anthony, Sophia, Savannah, Blaize & Charley along with 20 nieces and nephews were her delight and the love of her life. Beverly stepped into heaven on October 29th with her children and loved ones around her.
