On September 18, 2018, Sylvia A. Mandelke passed away at Providence St. Peters Hospital. She was born August 13, 1939 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Vivian (Perks) Primeau of Worcester, Massachusetts, her brother Everett Primeau of Oxford, Massachusetts, and her late husband Robert H. Byrnes of Watertown, Connecticut. She leaves behind her three children, Cindy (Gary) Richter of Hewitt, Minnesota, Anthony (Kimberly) Chiras of Lacey, WA, Nancy (Jeffery) Lee of Tenino, WA and one step son, Gerald (Adrianne) Mandelke Jr. Of Olympia, WA. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Throughout her life she worked as a hostess, factoryworker, and a hand model in the jewelry section of Kings Department Store, she spent seven years as a farmer’s wife in the state of Minnesota where she would go to the livestock auction and bring home unhealthy animals in the trunk of her Cadillac, so she could nurse them back to health. She also invested 20 years of service at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center caring for the elderly. Sylvia was married 28 years to Jerry F. Mandelke Sr. where they enjoyed going to casinos, traveling, and shopping. Sylvia was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many, her spunky personality impacted more lives than she knew. She will be missed. Services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Homes, Lacey Washington, on October 3, 2018 at 11:00am, with viewing from 9:00 am till 11:00 am. |
