LaDell passed away on June 21st, 2018 surrounded by family and friends in Olympia, WA. Her battle with lung cancer was brief however, her fight was strong. LaDell was born August 19th, 1956 to Lloyd “Jim” and Beatrice “Boots” Lund in Olympia, WA. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Youckton, children Shaylah Seymour, Jesse Youckton, Heather Walker, Farley Youckton and Aaron Youckton; brothers Jim Lund and Jesse Lund. 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and others she raised and loved as her own. LaDell graduated from Timberline High School. She retired from North Thurston School District where she worked as a Para-Educator. She loved her time working with Indian Education and chose to retire to be a stay at home Grandma. LaDell enjoyed her summer vacations to Lake Chelan or Crescent Bar. As she grew up in both Westport and Olympia, she was a lifetime salmon angler. Whether in Westport, Tolfino or Alaska she was happy to say “Fish On!” Her highlight was catching her 58 pounder in Alaska! She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to host race day parties or attend the race in person, all was good, as long as the 48 car was still in the race. LaDell strived to be the “hostess with the mostess” for any occasion; NASCAR, Seahawks, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or just a game night. She had a heart of gold and was a lifetime philanthropist. Back to school she would buy extra supplies and clothes for kids in need, Christmas she always made sure to adopt a family to share the love of the holiday spirits. Her most recent passion was Raise for Rowyn. The family is asking any donations that want to be made, please send to Raise for Rowyn. LaDell was also a lifetime member of the VFW post of Westport, WA. Her family will be hosting a celebration of life on August 18, 2018 in Tumwater, WA. More details will be released at a later date. She will be cremated by Woodlawn Funeral Home and her ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean in Westport, WA to be reunited with her parents; and her children will spread the remainder of her ashes in Maui, Hi. |
