Raymond G. French, 75, died November 13, 2017 at his residence in Tumwater, Washington. He died peacefully in his sleep. Raymond was born on June 16, 1942 in Argyle, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents Armand Paul French and Frances Elizabeth (Kryzsko) French, his brothers, Ronald W. French, Robert W. French, Frank A. French, Lee A. French and his sister, Patricia A. Chloupek. His surviving family includes two brothers, Armond F. French of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Arnold J. French of Rochester, Washington and two sisters Ethel Arneson of Lacey, Washington and Mary R. Vance of Rochester, Washington. He has numerous nephews and nieces, many great nephews and nieces and several great great nephew and nieces. Raymond joined the Air Force in 1960 and was stationed in various places, the last place before he separated from the service was in England. After spending 9 years in the Air Force he stayed in England for a year or two and then moved to Australia where he worked for the University in Sydney. He spent approximately 7 years in Australia before deciding to move back to Washington State and stayed with his parents for some time acquiring various small jobs until he was hired by the Washington State Patrol as a dispatcher in their Tacoma EOC Station. After many years working for the WSP he then acquired a job with the Department of Defense, Logistics, as a supervisor. He was a specialist in his field receiving various awards and commendations for his work. He enjoyed his job very much until he had a brain aneurism which forced him to retire. He had just purchased his first new home, in Tumwater, just prior to his aneurism in 2004. He enjoyed his retirement as much as he could with his medical issues. He enjoyed visiting with the family and watching movies on his big screen TV. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, December 9th at Noon at 18432 Apricot St. SW, Rochester, WA 98579.
