David (Dave) Byers, 69, died April 2, 2017, at Providence St. Peter Hospital, with his wife of 34 years at his side. A mass, celebrating his life will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey, WA, with a reception to follow. For the past few years, he suffered with complications related to exposure to Agent Orange in the Army in Viet Nam. In his service to his country, he was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart. He later joined the Civil Air Patrol, doing Search and Rescue. He also taught Survival Training. Eventually, he went into computer repairs, education, and training, owning the business. His hobbies included camping, especially Rendezvous (1800’s with black power guns), fishing, boating, and gardening. More recently, he was into remote controlled airplanes. Dave is survived by his wife, Shirley; niece, Brandy (Emiddio) Napolitano, grandnephews, Dustin & Chris (Chrystal) Fletcher; and great-grandnephews, Aiden, Aukai, and A.J. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice. |
