Kathleen Konzen Wood

In the arms of her family, Kathleen (“Kay”) Wood (Konzen) was called home to our Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017. A beautiful, compassionate, patient soul – everyone who met her, loved her. Widely regarded as “such a sweet lady”, Kay was deeply devoted to her family and friends.

Born in Earlville, Iowa in 1937, Kay married her husband, Gene, in 1974, and eventually settled in Olympia, Washington.

Kay joins Gene; her parents Nick and Gertrude; and siblings Bill, Ed, Elmer, Ginny and Larry, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her only child, Kari; three step-daughters, Shannon, Tammy and Valerie; remaining siblings Alice, Dic, Jane, Joe and Marie; sisters-in-law Nancy and Margaret, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kay, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandma – you are so very dearly loved and missed! Your hugs, your heart, your smile. You left an indelible mark upon everyone you touched, and for those of us you’ve left behind, our lives will never be the same without you. We take comfort in knowing you are now in the company of angels, no longer in pain, and someday we will see you again.
