Edward (Eddie) Arlen Toner passed away peacefully at home, his family by his side. He was born in Walla Walla, WA to Joseph and Maxine Toner, the middle child of three siblings. Growing up, he worked on his relatives’ wheat farm. He served in the US Air Force for four years, then began his career at Pacific NW Bell, then AT&T, where he was employed for 33 years. After retirement, he and Shirley moved to Lake Limerick. He was a member of the Architectural Committee. They enjoyed living there and made many friends. Ed loved to talk knowing no strangers. He enjoyed camping, skiing, golfing, riding motorcycles and spending time with this family. Ed is survived by his wife Shirley of 58 years, his daughters Teri (David) Bair, Tracie (Rolland) Ireland, Barbara Hobkirk, Lori Chenowith, all of Olympia; a sister Nora Zummach of Nehalem, OR, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Maxine Toner, and a sister, Gwendolyn George. There will be a mass at St. Edward Catholic Church, 601 W. “C” Street, Shelton, WA on June 4, 2016 at 10 am, immediately followed by a reception. |
