Adeline Floyd, former resident of Olympia and beloved wife of Gary Floyd, passed away at Roo Lan Health Care Center in Lacey, WA on June 11, 2015. She was born in Laupahoehoe, HI on August 27, 1924. As a young girl of 17, Adeline was a witness to the bombing of Pearl Harbor during World War II. Adeline and Gary were married in November 1985 at Sacred Heart Church in Lacey. The couple shared a great love for international cuisine, with frequent enjoyable evenings at La Petite Maison French restaurant on Olympia’s west side. They made many friends during wine tasting events. Adeline worked as a bookkeeper most of her life and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church choir. She was an avid animal lover and particularly very fond of Golden Retrievers. One of her favorite quotes was that “there is a reason dog is God spelled backwards.” Adeline’s funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, on Wednesday, June 24 at 1:30 PM, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.A memorial mass in her honor will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Lacey on June 29. |
