Sally (age 94) was born on July 30, 1927 to Lily and Charles Rimmelspacher in Lewiston Idaho. She died peacefully at home on December 5, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She grew up on a wheat farm where the school teacher came to live with them, then rode to school on her horse and eventually moved into town to attended school in Clarkston, WA. She graduated from Sacred Heart Nursing School in Spokane, WA in 1948. She worked as a nurse at St. Ignatius Hospital in the surgical unit. She married James Richard Floyd in June 1950. They lived in Moscow, Idaho where they owned their first pharmacy. The couple moved to Olympia in 1957 to open a new pharmacy and eventually a second one. When she wasn’t working at their stores, she was an avid home maker that loved baking, sewing, gardening and crafts. Her love for current events, reading and politics kept her mind sharp to the end! She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ed and John and her husband “Dick” Floyd. She is survived by her children: Kathy (Frank) Jones, Paul Floyd, Don (Kim) Floyd, Mary (Danny) Boggs, Jim (Dana) Floyd and Diane (Ed) McClanahan as well as 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, her sister Marie Rimmelspacher and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey, WA. Memorial donations can be made to Catholic Community Services. |
