Rebecca Lynn Pugel (Welty) died peacefully at home on April 8th, 2015 in Lacey, WA due to complications following cancer. She was 59 years old.
Becky was born on July 26, 1955 in Goldendale, WA to her parents, Arlando Guy and Barbara Welty. She married John Pugel on July 5, 1980. The Pugel’s moved to Elma, WA where Becky worked along-side John in the Newspaper industry and was a dedicated wife and mother.
Becky is remembered by her family as a kind, patient, loyal, caring woman who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She loved the Lord and loved sharing God’s word. She was passionate about quilting and a member of the Washington Stars Quilt Guild.
Becky is survived by her husband of 34 years John Pugel, son and daughter-in-law Charles and Shane Pugel of Virginia Beach, VA, Her son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Nicole Tolliver of Olympia, WA, and daughter and son-in-law, Joline Pugel and Ricky Guadarrama of Olympia, WA; and nine grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Arlando Guy and Barbara Welty; and her Brothers Elbert and John Welty.
A memorial will take place on April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Assembly of Lacey church, with a reception to follow at Woodlawn Funeral Home of Lacey. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Becky’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child in memory of Rebecca Pugel www.samaritanspurse.org.
