Perlita “Pearly” Rafael passed away surrounded by family in her home in Lacey Washington the morning of Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 61 years-old. She returned to the Lord after a two-year struggle with cancer. She was born in Cavite City, Philippines on May 7, 1957 to Soledad and Andres Rafael. Her family moved to San Francisco, California when she was 16 years-old. She joined the Air Force when she was 18 years-old and she honorably served in the Armed Forces for more than 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During her time in the military she raised two sons, traveled the world, was active with her church congregations, and built many enduring friendships with people from all over the world. She continued her career as a civilian at McCord Air Force base as a Relocation Assistance Specialist for 20 years, working to help Service members and their families find the resources and services they needed to help them transition.

Perlita leaves behind her mother, two sisters, two brothers, two sons, five grandchildren, several in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Perlita will be remembered by her big smile, love of travel, generosity, kindness, sense of humor, love of the color red, patriotism, and her enthusiasm for life.
