Paulina Anna (Pollyanna) Ellis Sieberath was born in Seattle WA on December 21, 1963.  She was a lively, happy child who enjoyed climbing up door frames, hands and feet extended.  She attended Assumption School and Holy Names Academy.  She helped to open Priory Wood Daycare in Lacey. She devoted herself to the children there and at other child care centers.  Her work experience also included office work and personal care work.

Pollyanna loved birds of every sort and she always had a parakeet or two living with her.  In the end, she had her beloved quaker parrot, Elsa, whom she doted on extravagantly. She also loved music, having played the guitar and piano.  She was enchanted by Michael W. Smith’s music and many other artists.  She loved the ocean, hydroplanes, and the color pink.

Pollyanna lived with many health struggles.  Her last week was very difficult after a surgery to replace a heart valve.  She died the morning of January 30, 2018.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Else C. (Sieberath) Ellis, and her brother, Leonard H. Ellis, Jr.  Surviving her are her father, Leonard H. Ellis, Sr., Katherine (Ellis) Callahan [Ira], of Olympia, Sister Monika Ellis, OSB of St. Placid Priory in Lacey and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, February 5 at 6:00 pm at St. Placid Priory for a potluck meal and time of remembering.  Mass precedes the meal at 5:00 at St. Placid Priory, 500 College Street in Lacey, WA, for those who can attend.

Arrangements are with Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey.
