Nancy J. Bucknell journeyed to glory in Seattle, WA, on February 17, 2017, at the age of 71.  She is survived by her husband, Pat Bucknell, two daughters (Sonja Hutchinson and Tanya Brazil), a son-in-law, four grandsons, and a granddaughter-in-law.

Nancy was born on September 4, 1945, in Port Angeles, WA, the only child of Harold and Betty Orem. She met Pat at square dancing lessons at age 14. At age 17, they married. The Air Force sent them to TX briefly, and then they returned to WA and settled in Lacey.

For 31 years, Nancy worked as a telemarketing manager for the phone company. She belonged to the civic groups Altrusa International, Pioneers of US West telephone, Lacey Sunrise Lions Club, and Quiltmakers of Olympia. During her time with the Lions, she worked on Day of Caring, Week of Hunger, Charter Night celebration, Apple Sales, and served as Program Director. She was Outstanding Lion of the Year from 2012-16 and did lots of traveling to Lions clubs with Pat. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing/quilting, and traveling. They have visited many of the States and more than 20 foreign countries.

The memorial service will be held March 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Olympia Bible Presbyterian Church, 2039 Sleater Kinney Rd. NE, Olympia, WA 98516

Donations may be sent to Project New Hope, PO Box 5532, Lacey, WA, 98516. They assist military families in dealing with combat stress.
