Maria, 73, entered eternal life on July 7, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Urdax, Navarra, Spain on June 16, 1948 to Felisa Mihura and Jose Tomasena. Pepita was the oldest child born into a family of five siblings.

As a young adult, she met her future husband, Antonio in Spain where they married in 1971, and moved to Bakersfield, CA to pursue the American dream of opportunity.Together, they enjoyed a beautiful life working hard to provide education and success for their daughter, Jennifer.

Maria had a strong work ethic and worked at various Basque restaurants when she first arrived here, then ended up working for various businesses as an office assistant until her retirement in 2013. Her Catholic faith was very important to her and she enjoyed shopping, decorating her house, and getting together with family. She was a proud Amatxi to her grandkids, Amaya and Sawyer and enjoyed spoiling them. To be closer to her daughter and family, she moved to Washington state in 2015.

Pepita was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Antonio Bessonart, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brock McCall and grandkids, Amaya and Sawyer. She also leaves behind sister, Maritxu (Dionisio), Maria Luisa (Jose Mari), Lupita (Phillippe) and Pello, all residing in Spain and France, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families. Funeral will be held at 10:00am at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, WA on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
