Francis (Frank) Hyatt was a giving life time resident of Western Washington. Frank was born in
Walla Walla to Robert and Marjorie Hyatt and they migrated to Western Washington when he
was a child. Frank attended St. Michael Catholic and graduated North Thurston in 1965.
Afterwards, he graduated St. Martin University in Lacey where he majored in Sociology. Among
his achievements as a student leader at St. Martin, he helped raise funds needed for a new
student union center on campus.
He retired after 33 years with Puget Sound Power and Light (now Puget Sound Energy) in
2002. He started as an electric meter reader and advanced to Field Engineer serving customers
extensively in south King County. Frank also served as President of Kiwanis Club of Meridian-
Kent.
Frank enjoyed reminiscing with past school buddies and former co-workers. He loved good
food, bad jokes, spending time with his chihuahua Izzy, family gatherings, and followed local
politics while helping his favorite candidates get elected. Before his epic battle with cancer his
favorite vacation was to Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife Suki, son Zachary(Sangeeta), daughter Leah, step-son Jason(Jennifer)
Casarez, step-daughter Cynthia(LTC Joe) Gilbert and five grandchildren. He is also survived by
sister Heidi(John) Kosterman, twin sisters Terri(Al) House and Suzy(Tom) Slining, step-brother
Dave(Renee) Jenna, step-sister Marie(Dan) O’Leary and finally his mother of 99 years,
Marjorie(Harry) Jenna.
