Donald Philip Greenfield, 81, passed away at his home in Lacey on May 4th 2017. Don had a successful career serving in the United States Army for 20 years and five years in the National Guard. There he met Eleonore, the love of his life, while stationed in Germany. Don and Eleonore married on September 4th, 1957. In January of 1958 they moved to the United States and soon after had two daughters. In 1967 they bought a home in Lacey, WA. Eleonore stayed home and raised their daughters while Don served in Vietnam and at other military bases throughout his career.

Don retired from the Army on October 31, 1977 at Ft. Gordon, Georgia. After retiring from the service, Don worked for Intercity Transit and then 20 years as a school bus driver for the North Thurston School District. Don and Eleonore bought a fifth wheel and did some traveling, renewing their love and devotion as best friends and inseparable companions on each journey. Don was a loving and devoted father who enjoyed spending time with daughter Tammy and son-in-law William Hanning at their home for a barbeques, holidays or just watching the Super Bowl. He liked to play pool and would get together on Sundays with daughter Michele and son-in-law Dave Conklin and his grandson Raymond Hergert to shoot pool and enjoy pizza. Don loved all of his family very much.

People that knew Don enjoyed his sense of humor and his gentle soul. He was loved by many and he will be missed. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Eleonore and is survived by daughters Tammy Hanning (William), Michelle Conklin (Dave), and grandson Raymond Hergert.

Services for Donald will be held on June 3rd, 2017 at 1:00pm, at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
