Clara Ann (Coxen) Sanford passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2019, in Olympia, Washington at home. A home she shared with her loving husband, Phillip Sanford, whom she married on May 14, 1960.

She was born August 21, 1940, in Toppenish, Washington, the daughter of late Floyd Coxen and Mary H. (Coxen) Shaw.

As Phil and Clara journeyed through life together, they traveled and moved every few years due to Dad being in the Army. Along this journey, three daughters joined them Andrea, Robin, and Antonia.

Mom devoted her life to her family. She was the rock and the glue to our family. Mom was always finding something to volunteer for. It started out as being a girl scout assistant, then she went to work for Army Community Services, Pregnancy Aide, and finally Catholic Outreach Services.

Mom loved her dogs dearly. She loved to travel to Pacific Beach and Yellowstone. She also loved her Rainier games!

Clara is survived by her loving husband, Phillip, of 59 years; daughters Andrea (Joe), Robin (David), and Antonia (Chris). Her grandchildren Rachel (Jon), Alex (Dani), Noah (Elish), Andrew, Michael, and Samantha. Great-grandchildren Chayce, Brynn, and Harper.

Clara was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Mary, brothers Floyd Jr Coxen, Russell Coxen, and grandson Christopher
