Rosemary Soriano Hartke – January 25, 1958 – April 27, 2016

On Wednesday, April 27 at 2:15 pm Rosemary passed away at St Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, WA

Rosemary was born in Binalonan, Pangasinan in the Philippine Islands. She came to the United States via boat with her pregnant mother in 1960 after her father sent for them. Rosemary’s family settled in Olympia, WA, where she attended and graduated from Timberline High School. Rosemary met her husband and had her first kid soon after in 1977 and her second kid in 1982.

In the summer of 1984, after attending two years at Capital Business College, Rosemary began a lengthy 31 year career with the State of Washington. She started from the very bottom as a clerk typist I and retired in January 2016 as a Support Enforcement Technician to later pass after enjoying only three months of retirement.

Rosemary had a quadruple bypass open heart surgery in 2004. This surgery would allow her to enjoy a longer, fuller life. Within the next 12 years, Rosemary would develop diabetes, clogged arteries and a form of leukemia. Rosemary would continue to receive treatments on her arteries as they would continue to stay clogged. After a routine procedure that had been successful many times before, Rosemary would not wake this time after completion.

Rosemary is survived by her mother, Florentina; husband, David; son, Barry; daughter, Misty; brother, John; all her step-children, granddaughter Ava and grandson Christano.
