James (Jim) Truglio, 87, of Olympia, WA passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014. For the past 10 1/2 years, he resided at Puget Sound Healthcare Center. Previous to that, he lived in the South Bay area and Delphi area of Thurston County. He was born in Walden, New York on January 14, 1927 to Anthony Truglio and Elthel Cline. His best friend was his brother, Richard (Dick) Truglio and they worked and played together all through their childhood. After leaving home in 1944, Jim became a merchant marine and sailed away to Scotland on the MASA DE LANO several years. Shortly after that, he started working and training to become a heavy duty equipment operator and loved working in the construction industry until he went into the nursing home in 2003. James married Evelyn Roberts on August 20, 1950. They adopted two children, Mary Ann & Michael in 1957. They divorced in 1973. Jim then married Marjory Hill and was married to her for 30+ years. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, country music, animals, & rock collecting. He is survived by his children Mary Ann (Sidney) Thorne, Michael (Linda) Truglio, and stepchildren, Fay (Jim) Smith, Leon (Nancy) Hill, and Cheryl (Sam) Forsberg. Both wives preceded him in death. There are many others who will cherish his memory. As per Jim’s wishes, he is to be buried at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, NY. The family will have a time of remembrance at a later date this summer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or church.
