Charles E. Collins III was born on January 9, 1935 in Atchison KS to Charles E Collins Jr. and Dorothy R. (Lau) Collins. He attended school in Atchison Kansas until graduation in June of 1956. He attended DeVry Institute in Chicago IL until 1957. He then joined the Navy and was stationed in New London CT as an electronic technician. His first submarine was the USS Tusk, then he was selected to be on the SSBN Patrick Henry Gold commissioned submarine for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Navy. He was on the Theodore Roosevelt when he left the Navy in 1968.

He went to work for Garland Power and Light in 1970 and worked there for ten years. We then moved to Washington State and he went to work for Puget Sound Energy and later for the Washington State Department of Transportation where he retired in 2005.

He supersedes his wife Rosemarie Collins whom he was married to for 53 years, his sons Charles E. Collins IV and James L. Collins, his daughter Euna Renee (Collins) Wicklund and adopted daughter Marissa Ann Collins, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at Park Side Elementary 301 Central Ave. Tenino, WA 98589 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
